Artist Eszter Burghardt creates unique microscopic landscapes using colored wool. She captures images of the different scenes by zooming in closely and snapping photographs of the tiny sets. Among the pieces made are exploding volcanoes, mountainous valleys, streaming water and grassy fields. The simplicity and subtle gestures combined with the natural chaos of the wool material makes for delicate yet intricate art pieces. At first glance the actual material used to create the pieces seems ambiguous where as the overall finished product is evident and clear. [via notcot]
