Artist and fashion designer Rie Hosokai has created a new collection of conceptual evening wear entirely out of balloons. Hosokai and creative partner Takashi Kawada have carefully stitched together hundreds of balloons to create wearable art for temporary display. From the neckline to the edge of the gown, each dress is uniform in color and material, fragile and fashionable all at once. While the resulting dresses look realistic in these images, they’re only designed for conceptual display, showcasing an interesting perspective on fashion with unlikely materials. [via designboom]
