The good people at NotCot recently visited the new high-design, pretense-free barber shop of Baxter of California. Having long produced fine grooming products for men, it was a logical next step to launch a barber and shop in downtown LA. The Baxter Finley Barber Shop features vintage furnishings, douglas fir flooring, and white tile walls that present a throwback-sensibility about what grooming should be for men.
The menu is simple– Baxter will treat you to a haircut, a shave or both for a downtown salon price point. While you wait, an array of modern style magazines or vintage Playboy periodicals are set for your perusal. Baxter has created this barber shop to be as much about the experience as the resulting cut, an enjoyable moment of relaxation in the fast-paced life of downtown Los Angeles.
