Completed just in time for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, the masterfully restored Cutty Sark cargo ship by Grimshaw Architects is displayed by the National Maritime Museum. Visitors can now visit the historic vessel and take a journey through time as the ship’s components are exhibited with the use of modern display practices. Fine craftsmanship and attention to detail led to a fully restored red stain elm deck, stunning brass clad underbelly and intricate metal work. Three tall masts hoist up elegant sails and fresh coats of white, grey and red color above the once seafaring ship. Now the massive nautical wonder can be admired by all for its historic value and incomparable beauty. [via yatzer]
