The architects at Feldman Architecture are responsible for the design of the lovely eco-friendly “Caterpillar House” located on the coast of California. The Caterpillar House has 360 degree views of the 20,000 acres of preserved land that wraps around it. A massive, flat roof extends over the floor to ceiling glass windows that encompass the house. Installments of a rain water collection system and solar power panels let the Caterpillar House use the natural elements and leave a more minimal carbon footprint behind it. Rustic features and a low to the ground aesthetic succeed in making a modern ranch style home that is easy on the eyes and the environment. [via inhabitat]
