Designer Steve Hermann recently completed the Glass Pavilion house in Montecito, California, a modern concrete-and-glass homage to the Farnsworth House of Mies van der Rohe. While the comparisons to one of Mies van der Rohe’s most famous works are apparent, Hermann’s work remains a singular success in design. The home is an open white stunner, with rooms that feature unrestricted views of the oak and fern Montecito landscape. Below the home is a large garage, currently stocked with a classic Mercedes gullwing and a pair of Ferraris, one vintage, one current. While you may have to procure those vehicles yourself, the Glass Pavilion home itself is currently for sale. If you’ve got a down payment for a home like this, you’re buying an instant classic.
