Photographer Kevin Bauman creates a photo project around the often overlooked tiny churches that seem to be blanketed across Detroit, Michigan. The images of the churches are taken from head on giving a raw and straight forward perspective of the worship centers. Among some of the buildings transformed into churches are old gas stations, houses, and office buildings. The lackluster and unedited approach to portraying these tiny churches adds the lack of exclusivity in the number of churches in that particular area. Bauman chose an atypical subject matter that captures the seemingly abandoned buildings that were once places of gathering.[via fastcodesign]
